He's got credentials.


Marc Prensky isn't a charlatan. He's developed many digital games designed to facilitate learning and he's written extensively on the subject. He may be short on research and long on preaching, but I certainly can't be one to fault him on that. He's also apparently not one to stake a claim on what isn't his. He devotes an entire blog post to an examination of the history of the terms "digital natives" and "digital immigrants", admitting that
Although I thought up the terms up on my own, I have never claimed to be the first to use or publish either the metaphor, or either term.
I'm sure he's a nice guy. I do feel compelled to note, however, that I have a rather fundamental aversion to anyone who on his personal web site puts the term "visionary" at the top of his list of "achievements".
