A bit like Prensky.
The internet tends to have a preponderance of redundancy. There's nothing wrong
with that, and frankly, sometimes it can be a rather positive quality. There are
those who'll claim that redundancy is at the very root of the development of the
internet - that the original point of the network was being able to keep lots
of identical eggs in numerous baskets. That being the case, we shouldn't be surprised
that Prensky's article, and Dr. Berry's quote, show up numerous times on a wide
assortment of pages. And that's the case as well for a short synopsis of Cocksure.
I have no idea who posted the original blurb that can be found on Amazon, but
it shows up again and again. A search for Polly and Richler (or
any one of a number of additional similar mixes), for instance, seems to bring
us back to that one sentence about the character of Polly in the book. I'm actually
a bit disappointed that her character doesn't seem to garner at least one in depth examination. To my mind, she deserves it.
