Which part did you see?

With about one and a half million entries, visitors to the Wikipedia are pretty likely to see only a small corner of the territory. There's thus a sort of Blind Men and the Elephant atmosphere to any discussion of the topic. All too often when people speak or write about the Wikipedia they relate to that small corner, to their one particular aspect - the science articles, the articles on Africa, the biographies of famous people - with which they're familiar. I'm not aware of any studies that have tried to compare or contrast these various categories, but I'm quite sure that any such study would find significant differences in the nature and quality of entries from different subject matter. A biography of Tom Cruise probably can't be judged by the same criteria as one on nuclear fission.
