Six degrees is often more than enough.

It may be a function of Israel being a small country, or perhaps an exaggerated sense of togetherness. I may even have a completely wrong understanding of the topic. Whichever, I often get the feeling that "six degrees of separation" is much more than is ever needed. My guess is that four is sufficient in order to establish some sort of contact with anybody in this country, and then only one more to get to anyone else in the world.

So it may be that the fact that I can rub virtual shoulders with well known politicians or artists in an address book, or on a piece of spam mail, is place-specific to Israel. But it most certainly happens.
