Is anybody really going to read them?
Over the three month period between Mom's stroke and her death we maintained almost
daily contact - primarily via e-mail, instant messaging, and the phone. During
my stay in California I sent home daily reports of my visits with Mom, and my
brother asked me to send them to him - from his computer, to his computer - so
that he'd have a record of those reports as well. Though speaking on the phone
was easy, we tended to prefer instant messaging because it permitted us to save
our conversations and file them - for some future family member or researcher
who just might find some purpose in reviewing all
this.
