Are you moving?

In areas I'm familiar with, reading the address would be enough for me to know the general location of an apartment. But if, for instance, I was planning to move from Los Angeles to New York, I wouldn't necessarily be able to reach much of a conclusion about a neighborhood from an address alone. Having the address pinpointed on a map could definitely be helpful. On the other hand, chances are good that were I planning to move to a totally unfamiliar neighborhood, I'd try to find additional means of learning about the various locations available to me than just reading an address in a classified.

Moving from place to place on mashes of Google Maps is also something I'd like to know how to do. The apartment seeker site lets us identify a particular city and click over to it, but many of the others seem to require us to either click on the Go (right, left, up, down) buttons, or drag the map in the desired direction. Making a continental trip in this manner can be very difficult. With specific locations, like Seewall and Stanley Park, there's no reason to go anywhere - all the relevant information is available within a rather small radius. But numerous other maps whet our appetite to wander all over the place and see what results they offer, and an efficient means of doing this would be most helpful.
