Only my search engine knows for sure?

Actually, it's probably more a case of loving the one we're near. Remembering (again) that most of us never get beyond the second page of search results, yet that we also have a hard time distinguishing between advertisements and actual information (though of course advertisements are also information), it's a good guess that most of us are making do with "good enough" information, but not necessarily what we really wanted, or needed. We don't research a subject, examine it from numerous angles, entertain a wide variety of possibilities. We get a quick info-fix that lets us feel good for a while, until we need another one. The unbearable lightness of search-engine-retrieved information makes us into info-junkies, addicted to info-snippets that cloud our eyes from the harsh reality of not really knowing anything.
