Filing is for anal retentives.
No reason to have a guilt trip about not filing something in its proper place.
Actually, to my surprise, a Google search didn't bring up any pages telling us
(in those words) who filing is for. I was quite sure I'd find numerous pages that
made such a statement. Actually, there are at least a handful, but they seem to
tell us that filing isn't just for those people. I'm not sure that I can
be easily convinced, and especially in these days of desktop search. There are
so many more interesting things to do than to spend time making a decision about
where to file something. Why waste the time? Just save it anywhere, and hope to
find it sometime in the future when you really need it.
