How would you know?


Having already admitted that I've never found a buried treasure, it would make sense to note here that I've never read anyone's private diary either. And if I don't write that here, would the fact of my not explicitly writing that essentially be an admission of guilt that I have?

Writing in the margins of a text is a form of active reading, as is reading between the lines. So in this particular context, it's a very legitimate question. Leaving it unanswered allows my readers to scribble any comments they wish about me in these margins.
