"Albert Einstein and the Birth of the Quantum Measurement Problem"

Prof. Issachar Unna
Racah Institute of Physics, Hebrew University of Jerusalem

In an unknown paper by Einstein and Ehrenfest (1922) on the new Stern-Gerlach experiment, they demonstrate for the first time that this quantum measurement is not comprehensible, and provides a very serious challenge to our physical knowledge.

As is well known, the problem of quantum measurement is torturing physicists and philosophers to this day.

Host: Prof. Ron Lifshitz, x5145
