Aim: Collections of folk art by the first settlers in New England, craft objects from Asia, Africa and Oceania, native American art, early American decorative art, maritime history.

Area: c. 33,000 sq. m.; the addition: c. 11,000 sq. m.

Materials: Bricks, plaster, lead coated copper (for the roofs)

Cost: $75 million

Time of construction: 1996-2000
