Professor Leor is currently the Director of the Neufeld Cardiac Research Institute, a Tel-Aviv University Institute located at the Sheba Medical Center Professor Leor obtained his MD degree at the Tel-Aviv University and carried out his internship and residency in Cardiology at the Heart Institute, Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer. Following completion of his Cardiology residency he was a research fellow for 2 years in University of Southern California, Los-Angeles USA. He began his research career studying complications of acute myocardial infarction in experimental and clinical models. Over the past decade, he has focused on myocardial regeneration. using cell transplantation, tissue engineering and gene therapy approach Leor J, Amsalem Y, Cohen S.
