Hello Dear Students!

 Welcome to Israel's exciting south ! The hospitals in Beer Sheva & Eilat are a affiliated to Ben Gurion University of the Negev.  Soroka is one of the largest hospitals in Israel, and Eilat you will receive all the benefits of a  small hospital such as personal attention from the home doctors and a warm & friendly atmosphere!

Students arriving to Beer-Sheva or Eilat must contact their contact person (the local Elective and Exchange coordinator) and let them know their exact time of arrival so someone will be able to greet you at the dorms/hospital! Check In & Out Dorms is Sun-Thu 9AM-12 PM (noon) unless your contact person tells you differently -  only during Exchange Period. No exceptions!

 

Means of transportation from Ben Gurion airport to the hospitals:

 

Beer-Sheva - Soroka hospital

  1. Take the train from the Ben-Gurion Airport to Beer-Sheva - North train station (also called University train station). You might have to change trains in Tel-Aviv on the way. The train station arrives very close to the hospital.

For train times & other information please see the Israel Railways Website or call: (03) 577-4000. The train station is located on Level S (lowest level) of the Landside Building, adjacent to the Greeters' Hall of Ben-Gurion Airport.

After reaching the hospital please seek our “Medical Students’ Organization” office Faculty of Health, Daichman house at the Soroka Medical Center. We will show you to your dorms & department. Our office phone is +972 (0)8-6479951

 

Eilat - Joseftal (pronunced "Yoseftal" in hebrew)

 A. By bus:

  1. Take the train from the Ben-Gurion Airport to "Tel Aviv Hagana " train station.

  2. From Hagana train station walk to the Tel-Aviv Central Bus station (5 minute walk)

  3. Egged express buses drive from Tel Aviv Central bus station to Eilat hourly, the trip takes around 5 hours and costs NIS 70 one way (60 for students) or 120 NIS for a return ticket. Info is available  at the Egged company website

  4. Buses 1,2,5 which are a walking distance from the station arrive at Joseftal hospital, alternatively take a short taxi.

B. By Air:

1. Eilat Airport (ETH) is right in the middle of the city. Flights to Tel Aviv are frequent and take only 50 minutes. Eilat's airport can also be reached directly with El-Al airline company & low-cost airlines from many locations in Europe.

2. Bus #5 goes from the airport to the hospital

Students arriving to Eilat will receive a letter containing all the relevant information to know who to contact when they arrive at the city. Please make sure you let your contact person (the local Elective and Exchange coordinator) know your exact time of arrival to Eilat before your arrival!!

As soon as you have completed the formalities of registration, please call our office in Tel Aviv, telephone 03-6423428, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:00 to 14:00 to tell us that you've settled in.

That's it. You're in!

Take the time to settle down. At July & August You'll meet our exchange officers at the WELCOMING EVENT held few days later.
