Tel Aviv University Mechina

Admission Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or Matriculation Certificate which are recognized by institutes of higher education in the country in which they were issued. Registration to the Mechina is also possible for candidates who have studied no more than one academic year at a university abroad.
The certificates have to be evaluated by the Registration Office of the University.

  2. Mathematics Entrance Examination, (see details below)

  3. Hebrew Ulpan (Aleph) is recommended for all students but is not obligatory for applicants non residents.
It is strongly suggested that students learn Hebrew prior to their arrival for studies in Israel as it will make studies much easier. It is possible that due to a low level of Hebrew a student won't be able to study in the Exact Sciences or Life Sciences trend as a good level of Hebrew is required there.

A student whose level of Hebrew will be low at the end of the Summer Ulpan, will be required to continue his Hebrew Studies in an additional course which will be held during the vacation until the beginning of the first semester. This course will be financed by the student himself.

Mathematics Entrance Examination

This test is compulsory only for candidates who wish to study in the Social Sciences track (Math level parallel to 4 units), Life Sciences track and exact Scinces Track. The test will be held in April and June 2008. Candidates to the other trends will be accepted to the Mechina and will have to take a Math placement test during the Summer Ulpan

Candidates living abroad In case of failure, they will have to study in the Humanities or Social Sciences (Math level parallel to 3 units)tracks.
