The study started with submerged hydrophytes from Israel, later expanded
to incorporate such plants from various places and habitats.
The initial stages of the study tested the effects of exudates from the
submerged hydrophytes on bioassay plants. An experiment testing the
effects of such exudates on a number of submerged hydrophytes is underway.
