What services does the network provide?
- Transfer files of any type: data, programs, documents
- Receive or send electronic mail to one or more network users
- Share computer resources
- Access remote applications, databases or software libraries
- Distribute electronic newsletters and forums
- Provide access to the Aleph system - the Israeli inter-university
library computerized card catalog system
- Remote login to other computers in Israel or other computers located
in the global Internet
- Access to remote databases via remote login
Any and all TCP/IP functions (Internet) are generally available. Each
university campus maintains its own rules and regulations as to which Internet based
services not to provide. Refer to your local campus computer center
for further deatils.
