about

In an effort to correct the lack of knowledge of fuel cells in Israel as compared to western countries, the center will promote this field of research, which today, is on the cutting edge of science and technology.
The center will also promote activities on the subject of batteries and supercapacitors.

Tel - Aviv Group Activities
  • General research in electrochemistry.
  • Development and characterization of materials for fuel cells and primary and secondary batteries.
  • Development and characterization of novel, low-cost components for fuel cells.
  • Development of fuel cells and accompanying accessories.
  • Search for new fuels (superior in performance to methanol).
  • Development of proton-conducting membranes (PCM) in collaboration with IPRC (the Israeli Plastics and Rubber Center).
  • Characterization of materials in collaboration with the Wolfson Applied Materials Research Center, located in Tel-Aviv University.
  • Development and characterization of Li-ion/polymer electrolyte batteries on silicon chips.
Bar Ilan group Activities
  • Basic research in electrochemistry, materials science and surface chemistry.
  • Synthesis of novel materials: electrodes for rechargeable batteries, Electrolytic solutions (solvents, novel electrolytes, and conducting polymers).
  • Development and characterization of Li-ion batteries.
  • Development of high-speed supercapacitors.
  • Development of rechargeable magnesium batteries.
