International Yiddish Summer Program

The Goldrich/Goldreich Families – Beth Shalom Aleichem Yiddish Summer Program at Tel Aviv University is offered during the month of July. This intensive  four-week language immersion program provides Yiddish instruction on the Tel Aviv university campus at the beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as a diverse afternoon program of lectures, tours, theatre, concerts, museums, films, and cultural events.

As students of the School for Overseas Students at Tel Aviv University, whose credentials are recognized by universities world-wide, participants receive 80 hours of language instruction (four credits) with highly qualified and experienced teachers in small classes. Language instruction is supplemented by lectures given by leading scholars in the fields of Yiddish language, literature, and culture.

Weekend-trips to Jerusalem, the Negev, and the Galilee, are offered and organized by the School of Overseas Students for an additional fee of 200$ each (limited to currently enrolled university students).

All participants of the Yiddish program have the opportunity to participate in a tour of the Diaspora Museum and a festive evening at the Tel Aviv beach and promenade.

Student housing for participants currently enrolled in a university is available in dormitories adjacent to the campus.

A significant number of scholarships are available, and students are encouraged to complete the scholarship form along with the registration form which can be accessed through the Tel Aviv University School for Overseas students.
