הזיקה הבולטת בין הפסיכואנליזה של ז'אק לאקאן לבין טקסטים מרכזיים בתולדות הפילוסופיה המערבית היא זיקה שמעוררת תמיד את השאלה האם המחשבה הפסיכואנליטית איננה ביסודה פילוסופיה. זיקה זו באה לידי ביטוי בכך שמושגי יסוד במחשבה של לאקאן מפותחים באמצעות, סביב ובעקבות מושגים מרכזיים בפילוסופיה המערבית. זיקה זו קשורה גם לכך שהמחשבה של לאקאן חלחלה והשפיעה במידה רבה על הלכי רוח פילוסופיים שונים בימינו.
בסמינר זה נתחקה אחר "ציטוטים" של לאקאן מן הפילוסופיה. זאת כדי להבין את סוג השימוש שעושה לאקאן בפילוסופיה, כדי להתחקות אחר האופן בו המבט הפסיכואנליטי "צובע" את הטקסט הפילוסופי וכדי לפענח מדוע נחוצה הפילוסופיה ללאקאן.
לשם כך נתעכב על שלושה רפרנסים מרכזיים מן הפילוסופיה ונקרא אותם מול/כנגד הקריאה של לאקאן:
הנפש של אריסטו
הקוגיטו של דקרט
ה"דבר" של היידגר.
הנוכחות הפעילה בפגישות הסמינר היא חובה.

LACAN AND THE PHILOSOPHERS

The close affinity between Lacan's psychoanalysis and central texts in the history of philosophy, is an affinity which always elicits the question of whether Lacanian thought is not to be read as philosophy.
This affinity is manifested in fundamental concepts of Lacaian thought being developed by way of, around and following basic concepts of Western philosophy, a fact also connected to the extent of penetration of Lacanian conceptual language into current philosophical discourse.
In this seminar we will trace some of Lacan's quotations from philosophical sources in order to to comprehend the kind of use Lacan makes of these texts, in order to follow the way psychoanalytic readings affect the philosophical source, and in order to decipher why philosophy is essential to psychoanalysis. For these purposes we will linger over three main references and read them against the Lacanian
texts:
Aristotle's ANIMA
Descartes' COGITO
Heidegger's THING
Active participation in the seminar's meetings is obligatory.
