סילבוס מבוא למטאפיסיקה ולתורת ההכרה

שאלת הקשר שבין מושג הידיעה ומושג ההוויה עמדה במרכז עיסוקה של הפילוסופיה בעת החדשה והייתה מקור פורה לחידוש וצמיחה אינטלקטואלים. מטרת השיעור היא להציג בפני התלמיד את תמונת הידע העכשווית של תחומי דיון אלה בזמננו מתוך רגישות למקורותיה ההיסטוריים. בחלקו הראשון של השיעור נטפל במושג הידיעה ובתנאיו. דגש מיוחד יינתן לדיון במושג ההצדקה ובמגוון העמדות השונות המבקשות להבהירו: מסדתנות קארטזיאנית, מסדתנות נטורליסטית, וקוהרנטיזם. חלקו השני של השיעור יתמקד במבחר בעיות מטאפיזיות: שאלת הגוף והנפש, הוויה והתהוות (זמן), רצון חופשי ודטרמיניזם, זהות פרסונאלית ואחרות.

Introduction to Epistemology and Metaphysics

Since the early days of antiquity, epistemology, ontology, and metaphysics were central fields of philosophical inquiry. The subject matter of epistemology is the concept of knowledge whereas that of ontology and metaphysics is the concept of being. The present course acquaints the students with some of the main ideas and theories that are part of the contemporary philosophical debate. In the first part, the concept of knowledge will be introduced. Particular attention will be given to the concept of justification and to the variety of standpoints from which one can approach it: Cartesianism, foundationalism, coherentism etc. In the second part we will examine some metaphysical problems: the-mind-body problem, time and becoming, free will and determinism, personal identity etc.
