סילבוס סופרות אמריקניות במאה ה-20 20th Century American Women Writers

This seminar examines literary works of American women writers from the 1960s to the present. Their fiction reflects the diversity inherent in the contemporary scene of cultural pluralism. We will explore issues of identity formation raised by these authors who share American political citizenship but differ in their racial and ethnic affiliation.

TEXTS will include works by Grace Paley, Alice Walker, Bharati Mukherjee, Jamaica Kincaid, Jhumpa Lahiri and Gish Jen.

REQUIREMENTS: class attendance and participation, short papers, class presentation and seminar paper.
