הארולד פינטר: עקרונות פואטיים ודימוי ביקורתי

במסגרת הקורס נדון במחזות מרכזיים של המחזאי זוכה פרס נובל ל-2005, הארולד פינטר. נבחן עקרונות פואטיים במחזותיו, המייצרים אפקט אניגמטי ומאיים. כמו כן נבחן את ה"דיאלוג" החמקמק ורב התהפוכות בין המחזאי לבין הביקורת – מחד, תגובות המבקרים ליצירותיו בשלבים שונים בקריירה שלו ומאידך, תרומתו של המחזאי לגיבוש דימויו הביקורתי.

Harold Pinter: Poetic Principles and Critical Construct:

The seminar deals with the career and work of the British playwright Harold Pinter, laureate of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2005. We will examine poetic principles in Pinter's plays that create an enigmatic and threatening affect. In addition we will discuss the ongoing dialogue established between the playwright and critics of his work—the critics' responses to his work through different stages of his career, and the playwright's own role in the shaping of his image as dramatist.
