מבוא לאגדה ולספרות העממית

לקורס שתי מטרות עיקריות: הכרת היסודות התיאורטיים והפואטיים של הספרות העממית, הסוגות (הז'אנרים) העיקריים שבהם היא מעוצבת ומגמות ראשיות בשיטות מחקרה; ובחלקו השני, הכרת המהלכים העיקריים של סיפור העם העברי מאז ראשיתו בתקופת המקרא ועד לסיפורי העם של עדות ישראל בתקופה המודרנית. במהלך הקורס יוצגו וינותחו טקסטים מרכזיים מתוך הספרות העממית העברית לדורותיה, וביניהם ז'אנרים כמו המיתוס, האגדה, המעשייה, הנובלה, המשל, הפתגם, הבדיחה והחידה.

Introduction to Jewish Folk Literature.
The course will be divided into two sections: the theoretical and the historical. In the first one will be presented the basic definitions of folklore and folk-literature and their context within the humanities and social sciences. The major genres (myth, legend, fairytale, fable, novella, proverb, riddle and joke) will be presented, as well as the basic research tools and approaches.
In the second part of the course will be presented the development and characteristics of Jewish folk literature, from the Hebrew Bible, to the modern, Israeli folk literature.
