About the Conference- The Iranian Revolution: 30 Years After  

The conference convened scholars and experts on Iran from around the world to assess the state of the Islamic Republic from a broad perspective. It addressed the rise and development of the Iranian regime from its revolutionary birth in 1979 through the present, and analyzed both the Iranian domestic scene and Iran’s role in the region and world.  Held on May 24-25, 2009, following the inauguration of President Obama and on the eve of Iran’s own presidential elections, the conference focused on important and timely issues regarding the Islamic Republic, including: Iran and the New World Order; The Evolving Regional Role of Iran; Iranian Society, Politics, Culture, Religion, and Economy; and The Role of Minorities in Iran, with an Emphasis on the Jewish Community.
