The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Faculty of Exact Sciences leads Tel Aviv University in scientific excellence and world-wide repute. It ranks first in fulfilling three main goals of the University: advancing basic and applied research, expanding course programs to meet increased student numbers, and absorbing waves of Russian immigrants.
From its inception in 1964, the Faculty rapidly won international stature by attracting eminent scientists, including several from the former Soviet Union, and the most talented Israeli post-docs. The staff's commitment to progress and higher education is reflected in their busy research and teaching schedules, extensive collaboration with leading institutions abroad, and high-ranking positions in the University's administration as well as in national and international bodies.
The Faculty currently has 210 senior academic staff members, while enrollment stands at about 2,000 undergraduates and 650 graduate students. Beyond educating generations of students at all degree levels, the Faculty is particularly proud of its many outstanding PhDs who have received posts at leading universities, including TAU.
