Head of the Group: Prof. Malka Margalit
The Special Education Research Group focuses on identifying, examining, and treating the personal, inter-personal, and systemic characteristics of children with special educational needs. These children may have learning disabilities, mental retardation, attention disorders, hyperactivity, and behavioral problems, from pre-school age through junior high school. Funding for the Group comes both from Israeli agencies and international sources.
The Group's research has been presented at national and international conferences, as well as in professional and scientific publications. It has also provided the foundation for the development of therapeutic programs which address the social problems faced by special needs children. The Group's research activities have increased awareness to this problem and helped to develop educational techniques for addressing the emotional and social needs of special education students.
