Unit Head: Prof. Arieh Lewy

It develops innovative tools for the alternative evaluation of achievement in the Israeli education system. The Unit carries out research projects for the Ministry of Education, the Jewish Agency, and the Tel Aviv municipality.

Unit members publish research on, e.g.: encouraging reading and reading comprehension in junior high school; the Israel studies program in junior high schools; promoting educational achievements in the Galilee and Negev regions; developing examination tasks in Jewish studies.

The Unit is currently planning development and evaluation for the elementary school of the future, emphasizing a supra-disciplinary curriculum, and the study of learning, cognitive, and developmental characteristics of both students and teachers.
