IBM mainframe computer

The mainframe computer installed in the Computing Division is IBM Multiprise 3000, Model H30.

Hardware

• Memory: 1 GB.
• Channels: 12 parallel + 8 ESCON channels.
• Storage: 1 unit EMC/Symmetrix 4800 including 32 HDAs mirrored (RAID 1) as 16+16 devices, totalling 45GB available storage; 1 unit EMC/Symmetrix 5200 with RAID 5, comprising approx. 200 GB of available storage.
• Tape units:3 IBM 3490/E Cartridge units, each with 2 slots; 2 IBM/3480 Cartridge units, each with 2 slots.
• Communication: 10 Channel-attached controllers type 3274/3174; 1 Token-Ring card; 2 Ethernet cards.
• Printer: IBM 6262, line printer, Hebrew/English/dual,speed: 2200 lines/min.

Software

• Operating System: OS/390 rel. 2.10.
• Main DBMA: Supra by CINCOM. Accessed mainly via CICS, from PCs with 3270 terminal emulation.
