| ORBIS MUSICAE |
While the journal publishes articles and books reviews (mostly in English, but with occasional contributions in German and French) dealing with all aspects of musicology, the editors have attempted in the past to emphasise the music of the Middle East and the Mediterranean basin. The articles in Orbis Musicae are often illustrated with musical examples and other materia.
The pages of Orbis Musicae contain studies by some of the world’s best-known musicologists, such as Israel Adler, Higinio Angles, Jacques Chailley, Dom Jean Claire, Bruno Nettl, Tilman Seebass, Kay Kaufman Shelemay, Wolfgang Suppan, Hans Tischler, and Hanoch Avenary, who was Orbis Musicae's, founder and first editor.
